ScaleOrbit

About

ScaleOrbit is a publication about the discipline of scaling technology and the organizations that build it — without breaking either.

It is written for the people who carry that tension directly: technology executives, operating partners, and the boards and CEOs they answer to. The thesis is simple to state and hard to practice. Infrastructure, processes, and internal platforms are not cost centers to be tolerated. They are products that either compound in value or decay into liability. The work of leadership is deciding which.

The writing moves across three pillars — technical stewardship, operational leverage, and human velocity — because at the executive altitude these are not separate problems. They are the same problem seen from three sides.

The author

Sumaya Shakir is a technology executive with more than twenty years leading enterprise transformation, platform modernization, and technology strategy across Fortune 100, private equity-backed, and high-growth organizations. She has operated at the intersection of business and engineering — aligning architecture, data, and execution to build scalable technology ecosystems that strengthen operational performance and organizational agility.

She has led enterprise systems, cloud infrastructure, data and AI, cybersecurity, and digital product delivery, and operates IT as a product organization: clear ownership, governance, adoption metrics, and accountability across enterprise services and platforms. Her conviction, formed across many modernization programs, is that modernization fails when organizations replace technology without redesigning the governance, execution, and decision-making structures underneath it.

ScaleOrbit is where that conviction is written down.
